Sport, Vielfalt, Solidarität: Düssel-Cup 2026 lädt queere Sportler*innen nach Düsseldorf ein
Internationales queeres Multisport-Event mit 13 Sportarten vom 27. bis 29. März
Am letzten Märzwochenende bringt der Düssel-Cup 2026 zum 17. Mal über 700 LSBTIAQ*-Sportler*innen aus rund 20 Ländern zusammen – und setzt damit ein starkes Zeichen für Vielfalt und Solidarität im organisierten Sport. Das internationale queere Multisport-Event wird von den Düsseldorfer Vereinen Düsseldorf Dolphins e.V., VC Phönix e.V. und Weiberkram e.V. veranstaltet und bietet Turniere, Wettkämpfe und Workshops in 13 Sportarten.
Ziel des Düssel-Cups ist es, queeren Menschen Teilhabe zu ermöglichen und einen geschützten Ort zu bieten, an dem sie Sport treiben, Kräfte messen und sich ausprobieren können – unabhängig von Leistungsniveau, Herkunft oder Identität.
In klassischen Turnierformaten wie beim Basketball, Fußball und Volleyball treten Teams gegeneinander an. Darüber hinaus können Teilnehmer*innen in den Sportarten Badminton, Laufen, Minigolf, Schwimmen, Squash, Tischtennis und Tennis in Wettkämpfen ihre Fähigkeiten unter Beweis stellen. Ergänzt wird das Programm durch Workshops, unter anderem in Party Dance, Square Dance und Thaiboxen, die einen niedrigschwelligen Einstieg und neue sportliche Erfahrungen ermöglichen.
Gezielte Angebote für FLINTA*-Personen
Ein inhaltlicher Schwerpunkt des diesjährigen Düssel-Cups liegt auf der Stärkung der Sichtbarkeit von FLINTA*-Personen (Frauen, Lesben, inter, nicht-binäre, trans und agender Personen) im Sport. Trotz wachsender Aufmerksamkeit für queere Themen sind FLINTA*-Perspektiven im organisierten Sport weiterhin deutlich unterrepräsentiert. „Gerade für lesbische, trans, oder nicht-binäre Menschen ist Sport häufig von Ausschluss und Unsichtbarkeit geprägt“, sagt Lea Faißt, Vorständin bei Weiberkram e.V. „Mit gezielten Formaten wie einem FLINTA*-Fußball-Turnier und einem FLINTA*-Thaibox-Workshop wollen wir diese Strukturen aufbrechen und Zugänge erleichtern.“ Auch bei der Gestaltung des Abend- und Rahmenprogramms wurde auf Basis von Rückmeldungen von FLINTA*-Teilnehmenden ein ansprechendes und möglichst sicheres Veranstaltungskonzept entwickelt.
Mehr als Sport: Sichtbarkeit, Gemeinschaft und internationale Solidarität
Der Düssel-Cup schafft Sichtbarkeit für queere Menschen im Sport und läuft auch in diesem Jahr wieder unter der Schirmherrschaft von Oberbürgermeister Dr. Stephan Keller. Das mehrtägige Event wird von abwechslungsreichen Formaten begleitet, die zum Austauschen, Vernetzen und gemeinsamen Feiern einladen. Ein besonderes Highlight findet am Samstagabend statt: Bei der Party „Düssel-Cup presents Queers & Cheers“ im Zakk kann die Nacht mit kühlen Drinks, heißen Beats und bei bester Stimmung gemeinsam durchgetanzt werden. Special Guest an diesem Abend ist Lola Land Neo Revue, die mit beeindruckenden Tanzperformances die Menge verzaubern.
Ein wesentlicher Bestandteil des Düssel-Cups ist das Outreach-Programm, das LSBTIAQ*-Menschen aus Ost- und Südosteuropa unterstützt. Für viele Teilnehmenden bedeutet die Reise nach Düsseldorf die erste Erfahrung, Sport in einem Umfeld zu erleben, das Offenheit und Solidarität fördert. Der Düssel-Cup wird so nicht nur zu einem sportlichen Event, sondern zu einem Ort internationaler Solidarität und gelebter Vielfalt.

Düssel-Cup 2025 – Ein Rückblick
Vom 11.–13. April fand der Düssel-Cup zum 16. Mal in Düsseldorf statt. In diesem Jahr waren zehn Sportarten mit dabei, die als Wettkämpfe oder Workshops angeboten wurden. Besonderer Beliebtheit erfreuten sich Volleyball und Schwimmen. Bei beiden Sportarten musste wegen des großen Interesses die Registrierung vorzeitig geschlossen werden. Zum ersten Mal waren Squash, Party Dance und das Blasrohrschießen mit dabei. Die 725 Teilnehmenden kamen aus ganz Europa. Die ungarischen Teilnehmenden, die im Zuge des Outreach-Programms am Düssel-Cup teilgenommen haben, wurden im Rathaus von Oberbürgermeister Dr. Stephan Keller persönlich begrüßt. Für 2026 ist der Düssel-Cup wieder für das Wochenende vor Ostern geplant (27.–28. März).

Düssel-Cup 2025 – wieder mit neuen Sportarten
Vom 11. bis 13. April 2025 findet in Düsseldorf zum 16. Mal der Düssel-Cup statt. Aus ganz Europa kommen wieder LGBTQI*-Sportler*innen zusammen, um gegeneinander anzutreten und miteinander zu feiern.
Auch in diesem Jahr werden wieder 650 bis 700 Sportler*innen als Teilnehmer*innen erwartet. Auf dem Turnierprogramm stehen die Sportarten Badminton, Fußball, Laufen, Schwimmen, Party Dance, Sportschießen, Squash, Square Dance, Tischtennis und Volleyball. Party Dance und Square Dance werden als Workshops angeboten, bei denen auch Anfänger*innen willkommen sind. Squash und Party Dance werden zum ersten Mal ausgerichtet.
Das Multisportevent wird von den drei queeren Sportvereinen Düsseldorf Dolphins e.V., VC Phoenix e.V. und WeiberKram e.V. ausgerichtet. Unterstützt werden sie dieses Mal von der Squarecompany Düsseldorf e.V., dem Sankt Sebastianus Schützenverein Düsseldorf-Wersten e.V. 1925 und dem TSC conTAKT Düsseldorf e.V.
Der Düssel-Cup lebt von dem gemeinsamen Erlebnis und dem Engagement von rund 100 Ehrenamtlichen. Das Organisationsteam freut sich besonders darüber, dass die Schirmherrschaft wieder von Düsseldorfs Oberbürgermeister Dr. Stephan Keller übernommen wurde, der auch die Teilnehmer*innen des Outreach-Programms persönlich begrüßen wird. Das Outreach-Programm unterstützt die Teilnahme von LGBTQI+-Sportler*innen, die in ihren Heimatländern diskriminiert oder verfolgt werden.
Auch das Miteinander in Form eines drei-tägigen Rahmenprogramms soll nicht zu kurz kommen. Am Freitag, den 11. April, geht es abends zum Kennenlernen beim Get-Together ins Leonardo Hotel an der Kö. Samstag, den 12. April ab 22 Uhr, werden bei der Sportler*innen-Party im Zakk auf zwei Floors die Siege gefeiert. Zum Ausklang geht es am Sonntag, den 13. April mittags, zum ausgiebigen Düssel-Cup-Brunch noch mal ins Leonardo Hotel.

Düssel-Cup 2024 – Neue Sportarten, neue Partylocation!
Vom 22.03. bis 24.03.2024 findet in Düsseldorf wieder der Düssel-Cup statt. Mittlerweile zum 15. Mal kommen aus ganz Europa LGBTQI+-Sportler*innen zusammen, um gegeneinander anzutreten und miteinander zu feiern. Das Multisportevent wird von den drei queeren Sportvereine Düsseldorf Dolphins e.V., VC Phoenix e.V. und WeiberKram e.V. ausgerichtet. Unterstützt werden sie dabei von der Squarecompany Düsseldorf e.V. und dem Sankt Sebastianus Schützenverein Düsseldorf-Wersten e. V. 1925. Dieses Jahr stehen die Sportarten Badminton, Basketball, Fußball, Laufen, Sportschießen, Schwimmen, Square Dance, Tischtennis und Volleyball auf dem Programm. Auch 2024 werden wieder 600-700 Sportler*innen als Teilnehmer*innen erwartet. Der Düssel-Cup lebt von dem gemeinsamen Erlebnis und dem Engagement Ehrenamtlicher. Zum ersten Mal als Sportart in diesem Jahr mit dabei: Square Dance. Am 23.03. gibt es einen Square Dance-Workshop, an dem alle Interessierten auch ohne Vorkenntnisse teilnehmen können.
Treffen und Party: AromA-Bar und Zakk
Neu im Programm sind in diesem Jahr auch einige Locations: Das „Get-Together“ zum Kennenlernen vor den Wettkämpfen findet am 22.03. in der Bar „AromA“ statt. Am Samstag, den 23.03., ist Wettkampftag: Dann heißt es, alles geben – aber vor allem gemeinsam Spaß beim Sport haben. Nach den Wettkämpfen geht es dann zum Ausklang für die Party in die bekannte Event-Location, das „Zakk“: Dort wird ab 22 Uhr und auf zwei Floors Stimmung gemacht und ausgiebig gemeinsam gefeiert. Die Party steht auch allen Nicht-Sportler*innen offen!
Sonntagsfrühstück als Abschluss
Das Sonntagsfrühstück, das traditionell das Sportevent abschließt, wird am 24.03. von 10-14 Uhr in der Aidshilfe Düsseldorf angeboten. Hier finden sich alle Sportler*innen noch einmal gemütlich zusammen, bevor es für alle Gäste, national oder international, an die Heimreise geht.

DÜSSEL-CUP – Wir sind zurück!
Vom 31. März bis 2. April 2023 findet endlich wieder der Düssel-Cup statt. Das queere Multisport-Event lockt seit 2007 am Wochenende vor Ostern LSBTIQ*-Sportler*innen aus ganz Europa zu einem bunten Turnier in die NRW-Landeshauptstadt. Sportarten wie Badminton, Basketball, Fußball, Laufen, Schwimmen, Sportschießen, Tischtennis und Volleyball stehen auf dem Programm.
„Wir freuen uns sehr, dass der Düssel-Cup in diesem Jahr zum 14. Mal an den Start gehen kann“, sagt Dirk Behmer vom Organisationsteam. Drei Jahre musste das Traditionsturnier coronabedingt ausfallen. Jetzt hoffen die Veranstalter*innen, die drei queeren Sportvereine Düsseldorf Dolphins e.V., VC Phoenix e.V. und WeiberKram e.V., auf gewohnt regen Zuspruch von Teilnehmer*innen aus ganz Deutschland und Europa. Erwartet werden rund 700 Sportler*innen.
Auch beim diesjährigen Düssel-Cup ermöglicht das Outreach-Programm die Teilnahme von LSBTIQ*-Sportler*innen aus Ländern, in denen sie diskriminiert oder verfolgt werden. Seit 2011 konnten bereits über 100 Teilnehmende in Düsseldorf begrüßt werden – aus ost- und südeuropäischen Ländern wie Russland, Bosnien, Ukraine, Serbien, Kroatien, Bulgarien, Rumänien und Polen, aber auch Uganda oder Palästina.
Das queere Multisport-Event startet am 31. März mit einem Get-Together ab 17 Uhr im Kunstraum Kö 106 (Königsallee 106, 40215 Düsseldorf). Die Wettkämpfe in den acht Sportarten stehen am Samstag (1. April) auf dem Programm. Die Sportstätten liegen über das gesamte Düsseldorfer Stadtgebiet verteilt. Am Abend wird auf der Sportler*innen-Party in einer prominent gelegenen Event-Location ausgiebig gefeiert. Zum Abschluss des sportlichen Wochenendes gibt es den traditionellen Sonntagsbrunch, dieses Mal im „Les Halles“ auf dem Areal Böhler (Hansaallee 321, 40549 Düsseldorf) – ab 10 Uhr.Bis zum 19. März ist die Registrierung für die Teilnehmer*innen noch möglich. Aber auch als Volunteer kann man am Düssel-Cup teilnehmen. Bei der Durchführung der Wettkämpfe werden viele helfende Hände gebraucht. Sport, diversity, solidarity: Düssel-Cup 2026 invites queer athletes to Düsseldorf
International queer multisport event featuring 13 sports from March 27 to 29
On the last weekend in March, the Düssel-Cup 2026 will bring together over 700 LGBTIAQ* athletes from around 20 countries for the 17th time, sending a strong message of diversity and solidarity in organised sport. The international queer multisport event is organised by the Düsseldorf clubs Düsseldorf Dolphins e.V., VC Phönix e.V. and Weiberkram e.V. and offers tournaments, competitions and workshops in 13 sports.
The aim of the Düssel-Cup is to enable queer people to participate and to offer a safe place where they can play sports, test their strength and try new things – regardless of their performance level, origin or identity.
Teams compete against each other in classic tournament formats such as basketball, football and volleyball. Participants can also demonstrate their skills in competitions in badminton, running, mini golf, swimming, squash, table tennis and tennis. The programme is complemented by workshops, including party dance, square dance and Thai boxing, which offer a low-threshold introduction and new sporting experiences.
Targeted offers for FLINTA* individuals
One of the main focuses of this year’s Düssel-Cup is on increasing the visibility of FLINTA* individuals (women, lesbians, inter, non-binary, trans and agender individuals) in sport. Despite growing attention to queer issues, FLINTA* perspectives in organised sport continue to be significantly underrepresented „For lesbian, trans, or non-binary people in particular, sport is often characterised by exclusion and invisibility,“ says Lea Faißt, board member at Weiberkram e.V. „With targeted formats such as a FLINTA* football tournament and a FLINTA* Thai boxing workshop, we want to break down these structures and make access easier.“ Based on feedback from FLINTA* participants, an appealing and safe event concept was developed for the evening and supporting programme.
More than sport: visibility, community and international solidarity
The Düssel-Cup raises awareness for queer people in sport and is once again being held this year under the patronage of Mayor Dr Stephan Keller. The multi-day event will feature a variety of formats that encourage exchange, networking and celebration. A special highlight will take place on Saturday evening: at the „Düssel-Cup presents Queers & Cheers“ party at Zakk, you can dance the night away with cool drinks, hot beats and a great atmosphere. The special guest for the evening is Lola Land Neo Revue, who will enchant the crowd with impressive dance performances. An essential part of the Düssel-Cup is the outreach programme, which supports LGBTIAQ* people from Eastern and South-Eastern Europe. For many participants, the trip to Düsseldorf is their first experience of sport in an environment that promotes openness and solidarity. The Düssel-Cup is thus not only a sporting event, but also a place of international solidarity and diversity in action.

Düssel-Cup 2025 – once again with new sports

Sunday breakfast at the end
The Sunday breakfast, which traditionally concludes the sports event, will be offered on 24 March from 10 am to 2 pm at the Aidshilfe Düsseldorf. Here, all the athletes will get together again in a cosy atmosphere before all the guests, both national and international, start their journey home.

DÜSSEL-CUP – We are back!
